Since 1980, we have been growing grapes and producing award-winning wines on the Leelanau Peninsula. We have been family-owned and -operated since day one.
With over 40 years of experience at our vineyard, our winemaking and viticulture team has refined the vineyard to grow the most extraordinary grapes possible to provide our guests with beautiful bottles and tasty glasses of wine. We have over 125 acres dedicated to growing Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Lemberger, and so much more. Our wine tasting room hosts a multitude of our favorite wines for sampling, and there is plenty of fun food to pair with each pour. We are first-come, first-serve, so make sure you come in to get your wine tastings today! For parties of six or more, please give us a call before heading out to check on available seating and wine sample selections.
A Little Bit About Good Harbor Vineyards
Good Harbor Vineyards began with the idea of providing all people great wine at an affordable price. There shouldn’t be a barrier for anyone to enjoy a tasty wine, so the Simpson family began their journey back in 1970 when Bruce Simpson studied viticulture and oenology at the University of California Davis. Post-graduation, he and his wife, Debbie, planted the vineyards and opened Good Harbor Vineyards as the fourth winery on the Leelanau Peninsula. Many years of research and sampling have helped create the extensive grape list we grow today. The brother-sister team of Sam and Taylor Simpson now own and operate the winery fueled by the passion passed on through two generations.

Good Harbor Vineyards is open to the public all year round* for tastings and events. We invite you to gather in our luxurious wine tasting room to enjoy our complete line up of delicious wines with friends and family. The tasting fee is $15 for five samples. In the summer, you can sit outside and relax. In the winter, you can stay cozy while sampling our wines in our indoor venue. We provide you with plenty of alternatives as well, such as hard cider and other fruit wines. There are also food options to pair with our many different red and white varietals. While you may not be able to tour the actual vineyards since they are located off-site, you can watch some of our winemaking from the observation area in the tasting room and see how we take our grapes and get them into your glass.

Due to the local health department, we are not allowed to have dogs on our property. We continue to offer tasting room or curbside pick-up for online and phone orders.
